Anxiety, OCD and trauma
When your mind will not let you rest
Worry that runs ahead of you, thoughts that loop, rituals you did not choose, or old experiences that still feel close. This is the work I do most, and it can be done gently.

A note from Nimisha
Anxiety is tiring in a particular way. It is not only the worry itself but the work of managing it: the checking, the avoiding, the conversations you rehearse and the nights you lie awake running the day back. People often arrive apologising for it, as if it were a character flaw. It isn’t. It is a system doing its job too well.
In sessions we go at your pace. We look at what the worry is protecting you from, how the loops got built, and what it would take to loosen them. With OCD that means understanding the rituals before touching them. With trauma it means going slowly enough that nothing is forced, and stopping whenever you say.
Trauma is the centre of my work, complex PTSD in particular: the long after-effects of difficult experiences, often from childhood or within close relationships. It is also what my PhD research is about. I use approaches with evidence behind them, including CBT, schema therapy and ACT, shaped around you rather than the other way round.
If you are not sure whether what you have is “bad enough” for therapy, that question is itself a good reason to talk. The free call is for exactly that.

Who this is for
This might be you if
- Worry starts before you are fully awake and is still there at night
- Thoughts arrive that you did not ask for and cannot put down
- There are things you have to do, or check, or avoid, to feel safe
- Panic has caught you somewhere ordinary, and now you watch for it
- Something that happened long ago still decides how today feels
- You are tired of being the person who copes
If what you’re carrying isn’t on this list, write to me and I’ll tell you honestly whether I’m the right person. If I’m not, I’ll try to point you to someone who is. Email Nimisha
How it works
What happens after you book
Three small steps. None of them need you to have anything figured out.
Step one
Choose a free call, or a session
Pick a time that suits you. A confirmation and a calendar invite arrive by email straight away.
Step two
A short form, only if you want
Once it is confirmed, a short form asks how to reach you and, if you like, a line about what brings you.
Step three
The first conversation
On the call, fifteen minutes to ask anything and see whether we fit. In a session, fifty unhurried minutes. At the end, we decide together whether to continue.

Questions
Things people ask before booking
If yours isn’t here, ask on the call. There are no silly questions.
Fifteen minutes by video or phone. You ask whatever you want to know, I ask a little about what brings you, and we see whether we are a good fit. There is nothing to decide on the call itself.
Unhurried, mostly. I ask about what brought you here and what you are hoping for; you decide how much to say. There is no test to pass and nothing to prepare.
Not by me; I am a psychologist, not a psychiatrist, and therapy does not depend on it. If I think a psychiatrist’s opinion would help you, I will say so, and the choice stays yours.
Yes. What you share stays between us, with the narrow legal exceptions, a serious risk to your safety or someone else’s, which we go through plainly in the first session.
No. Many people come without either. If an assessment or a psychiatrist’s input would help, I will say so and we will talk about it together.
You can cancel or move a session from your client login up to 24 hours before it starts. What you paid then becomes session credit, used automatically for your next session. Within 24 hours a session can no longer be changed.
